Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to help you buy with confidence.
How does pricing work at The Nestled Coop?
Pricing at The Nestled Coop is fully transparent. Before a chicken coop can be added to the cart, customers enter their ZIP code so the total delivered price can be calculated. Once your ZIP code is entered, the price shown on the product page reflects the full cost of the coop delivered to your location. There are no hidden fees, no surprise freight charges, and no additional delivery costs added at checkout. The price you see after entering your ZIP code is the final price you pay.
Does the price include shipping?
Yes. All chicken coops sold by The Nestled Coop include free shipping within the contiguous United States. Shipping costs are already built into the price shown after you enter your ZIP code. We do not add separate freight fees, residential delivery charges, or handling costs after checkout.
Does the price include placement of the coop?
For Amish-built chicken coops in our Hen House Collection, professional on-site placement is included in the all-in price. Once your coop arrives, the delivery team will place the fully assembled structure at your preferred location on your property. There are no additional placement or setup fees for these coops.
The Smart Coop does not include placement, as it ships flat-packed and requires customer assembly.
What areas do you ship to?
The Nestled Coop ships to all 48 contiguous United States. At this time, we are unable to ship to Alaska or Hawaii due to carrier and freight limitations.
What is the difference between the Smart Coop and Amish-built chicken coops?
The Smart Coop and Amish-built chicken coops are both designed for long-term backyard chicken keeping, but they take different approaches to how flocks are housed and managed.
The Smart Coop is a modern, intelligent chicken coop system built with durable materials and integrated technology. It is designed to provide reliable, long-term protection while simplifying daily care through automation and monitoring. The Smart Coop ships flat-packed and requires customer assembly, which allows for efficient shipping and easier delivery to residential locations without sacrificing durability or performance.
Amish-built chicken coops are traditional, fully assembled structures handcrafted by Amish builders. These coops emphasize classic construction methods, solid materials, and a permanent structure that is placed directly on your property by a professional delivery team.
Both options are intended to serve as lasting homes for backyard flocks. The difference lies in design philosophy rather than longevity.
Why do customers choose the Smart Coop?
Customers often choose the Smart Coop because it combines long-term durability with modern convenience. The system is designed to reduce daily manual tasks while maintaining a secure and comfortable environment for chickens.
Features such as automated door operation, app-based controls, and built-in monitoring allow owners to manage their coop consistently, even when they are away from home. The layout of the Smart Coop is also designed for easy access and efficient cleaning, helping maintain a healthy living space over time.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery timelines vary depending on the type of coop purchased. Smart Coop orders are typically processed and shipped within one to three business days, with transit times generally ranging from three to seven business days depending on location.
Amish-built chicken coops are built to order and typically arrive within six to eight weeks. This timeframe reflects the custom construction process and delivery scheduling required for fully assembled structures.
Estimated delivery timelines are communicated clearly before purchase.
Will my coop arrive fully assembled?
All Amish-built chicken coops arrive fully assembled and ready for placement. The Smart Coop does not arrive assembled and requires customer assembly after delivery.
What do I need to prepare before delivery of an Amish-built coop?
Before delivery, customers should select a placement area that is as level as possible. For larger coops, a gravel base is recommended to support proper drainage and long-term stability. Clear access to the placement area helps ensure smooth delivery and accurate placement.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. For shipments that include multiple packages, such as the Smart Coop, each box will have its own tracking number so you can follow delivery progress accurately.
What warranty coverage is included?
Hen House Collection coops include a one-year manufacturer warranty covering workmanship and structural construction. In addition, LP flooring, siding, and roofing materials used in these coops are backed by a ten-year manufacturer warranty. These warranties help protect your investment and provide added peace of mind.
Can I choose where my Amish-built coop is placed?
Yes. For Amish-built chicken coops from The Nestled Coop, on-site placement is included in the all-in price. During delivery, the team will place the fully assembled coop at the location you choose on your property, as long as the area is accessible and reasonably level. Choosing your placement location ahead of time helps ensure a smooth and accurate delivery.
Do I need special equipment for delivery?
No. Customers do not need to provide any special equipment for delivery. Amish-built chicken coops are delivered using specialized trailers and professional placement equipment operated by the delivery team. The Smart Coop is delivered via standard ground carriers and does not require special equipment beyond receiving the shipment.
What happens if my coop arrives damaged?
If your coop arrives with visible damage, please contact The Nestled Coop as soon as possible after delivery. Our team will work with you to review the issue and determine the appropriate next steps. Prompt communication helps ensure that any shipping-related concerns are addressed quickly and fairly.
Can someone help me choose the right coop?
Yes. The Nestled Coop customer support team is available to help you compare coop options and choose the best fit for your space, flock size, and preferences. Whether you are deciding between a Smart Coop and an Amish-built coop or have questions about delivery and placement, we are happy to assist before you place your order.
What is your return policy?
The Smart Coop includes a 30-day satisfaction guarantee for verified faulty or unopened units. A Return Merchandise Authorization must be obtained before returning any product. Approved returns must use the provided return shipping label.
If the Smart Coop has been opened, assembled, or is found not to be faulty upon inspection, a 50 percent restocking fee will apply.
Amish-built chicken coops are custom-built structures and are not eligible for return once production has begun.
