Our Story
Our Mission: Protection Built on Experience
My father grew up on my grandfather’s farm, immersed in the daily rhythm and responsibility of managing a flock. In those days, they relied on the industry standards of the time—basic wire, simple latches, and functional setups. For years, it worked. But eventually, we learned that "functional" isn't the same as "foolproof."
The reality of poultry keeping changed for our family when a golden eagle identified a single weak point in the coop's design. In a matter of minutes, the flock was gone. It wasn’t a storybook moment; it was a total failure of the equipment they had trusted. It proved that in the face of a determined predator, "standard" gear simply isn't enough.
I started The Nestled Coop because I recognized a significant gap between what is currently on the market and what actually keeps a flock safe. I have made it my mission to source and curate the level of equipment my grandfather should have had.
OUR THREE STANDARDS OF CURATION
Today, we hold every product in our collection to three non-negotiable standards. We don't just sell coops; we sell peace of mind.
PREDATOR-FIRST SECURITY — We only offer habitats designed to withstand high-pressure predators. Whether it is a fox on the ground or a golden eagle from above, our selection is vetted to ensure your flock is housed in a fortress, not just a shelter.
HEALTH & SANITATION — A healthy flock requires more than just safety. We carefully select water and feeding systems designed to prevent the contamination and waste that are common in traditional, low-end setups.
VETTED DURABILITY — A coop is a significant investment. If a product isn't engineered to survive the elements and protect your birds for years to come, it does not earn a place in our collection.
BEYOND THE STANDARD
The Nestled Coop exists to provide the protection and reliability your flock deserves. We’ve done the research, tested the designs, and vetted the materials so that you don't have to learn the same hard lessons our family did.
Welcome to a higher standard of backyard poultry.
