My father grew up on my grandfather’s farm, raised on the daily rhythms, hard work, and responsibility of working the land. Like most folks back then, they relied on what was readily available—basic wire, simple latches, and light-duty setups. For years, it got the job done. But eventually, we learned the hard way that "functional" isn't the same as "foolproof."

The reality of raising our own food changed for our family when a golden eagle found a single design flaw in our coop. In a matter of minutes, an entire season of hard work and care was lost. It wasn’t just a setback; it was a total failure of the equipment we had trusted. It proved that when you are building a self-reliant property, standard retail gear simply doesn't hold up.

I founded The Nestled Coop because I saw a massive gap between the flimsy options on the market and the heavy-duty infrastructure homesteaders actually need. I made it my personal mission to source and curate the level of built-to-last equipment my grandfather should have had on his farm.
